Greetings!

Thank you for visiting our Hiram First United Methodist Church website. My name is Roger Vest, and I have the honor and privilege of serving as the pastor for this congregation here in Hiram, Georgia. 

Hiram First United Methodist Church (HFUMC) is a small but vibrant church that is committed to serving our community in multiple ways. We gather for worship each Sunday morning at 11:00am. We offer in person worship and also stream our worship services each Sunday. Everyone who attends, either in person or online, is important to us. 

I have been the pastor here since August 1st, 2026. I served 35 years as a full-time United Methodist pastor and “retired” in June and moved to Dallas, Georgia. I now serve this congregation in a part-time capacity and am excited about serving with the good people that make up this congregation.

I am married to Bonnie, a middle school teacher, and have two children. Dr. M. Frances Vest, who lives in Shreveport, Louisiana, with her husband, Bo and Grady Vest, who lives here in Dallas, GA, with his wife, Amber, and our grandson Emmett. 

I have always enjoyed serving the community and love that our Food for Friends ministry is vibrant and growing.
